camp senses poem

     Thornton beach camp

Wobbling, blurring heat waves above the sand as I stretch out on the golden beach
The fresh, salty scent of the sea as I watch the waves crash to the sandy shore
The treacherous, strong wind rattling trees and bowling over tents
The luxuriously soft, wet sand squelching         between my water wrinkled toes as I dash up and down the beach collecting creamy white shells
Sweet, burning milo spread its tingling sensation across my tongue
I think I just had the best camp ever.

bio poem

 Bridget
Artistic, chocoholic, fidgety
Wishes to dance in the royal New Zealand ballet
Dreams of living in candy land
Wants to be a ballet teacher
Who wonders what animals would say if they could talk
Who fears getting stuck in a small tunnel
 Who is afraid of spiders
Who likes chocolate
Who believes you should try until  you succeed
Who loves my pets, family and  chocolate bunnies
Who plans to have my own ballet studio
I like myself I’m glad I’m me

war senses poem

Struggling
The deathly red, orange flames of destruction light up the night sky.
The horrid stench of smoke and  rotting bodies
is all around me as I fire my gun.
The sound of gun shots in my  ears with a ringing
noise that overwhelms me and brings me to tears.
Eerie loneliness penetrating my thoughts but also the
tingling warmth of pride.
Rubbery bitterness of gun powder and ash that drifts through the air in constant streams  filling my lungs, leaving me breathless.
I think my struggle will pay off in time.

creapy creatures

Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo

I would like to take you into the wonderfully wacky World of the Snufalufagus Phubottomus Flucoo Doo, a.k.a Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo. Appearance Don’t let its name fool you, this exotic animal is actually pink with yellow spots. Its long fingers are perfect because in their spare time they like to pick their nose. The Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo has a purple stripy tongue that can stretch to one and a half metres. This critter will give you a fright with its fluro green eyes. Despite being just 30 cm long they weigh one ton, that’s as heavy as a small elephant! Diet The Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo has the most outrageous diet you have ever heard of. They like to eat their prey in lush green paddocks. Their diet contains chocolate star light cookies and sunshine berries. Their favourite things to eat are mungus bells with purple coconut tea. For a snack they like to eat the wool from the sheep so usually famers keep them as pets that help shear their sheep. Habitat You will find Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo on the sunny shores of Blat Beach in summer. In winter they will retreat to the cosy farms of the Salagos province where they allow people to take them in as pets. Behaviour Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doos behaviour is odd to say the least. In their spare time they like to steal underwear and use them to catapult purple coconuts at people! They are very particular when it comes to the water they swim in. The temperature has to be exactly 2.734 degrees celsius, if not they refuse to get in! The way they test the water is with a stump they call a tail. Extra facts Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doos have 3 wiry strips of hair at the end of their stumpy tails. They can smell from their ears. They have purple blood. When they eat something their tongue has a picture of what they ate. I hope you enjoyed this strange insight into the wonderful world of the Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo. If you’re out exploring on Blat Beach and you have a purple coconut catapulted at your head you’ve been hit by a Wire Hair Woolly Blue Hoo Doo!

who am I

I look like a giant, cute squirrel with no tail. My ears are not the slightest bit in proportion with my head! My  hair is golden brown, short and rough or sometimes black with fairly long tufts. When I am an adult I will only be a tad smaller than you. More people than you would think have me as a pet. By the way, did I mention I am the biggest rodent in the World. What am I ?

P.S Post a comment with your guesses. This is a hard one.
